    In its 18th meeting on December 10, 2018, the Financial Market Stability Board (FMSB) announced that its annual evaluation of progress in realizing macroprudential objectives had led to a positive assessment. Moreover, the FMSB has decided to keep its recommendation on the countercyclical capital buffer unchanged.

    In its 17th meeting on September 21, 2018, the Financial Market Stability Board (FMSB) clarified what it means by sustainable lending. Moreover, the FMSB decided to keep its recommendation on the countercyclical capital buffer unchanged.

  • 16th meeting of the Financial Market Stability Board – July 4, 2018

    In its 16th meeting on July 4, 2018, the Financial Market Stability Board (FMSB) adopted three recommendations to the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) concerning the macroprudential capital buffers. Looking back, the FMSB concluded that macroprudential supervision has contributed substantially to reducing systemic risks in the past few years. Standard & Poor’s (S&P’s) rating upgrade for the Austrian banking system in May of this year attests to this favorable development. The Austrian banks and, by extension the Austrian economy, consequently benefit from lower risk premiums. S&P considers the Austrian banking system to be one of the most stable banking systems worldwide. Moreover, the FMSB re-addressed sustainable lending standards in real estate funding.

  • 15th meeting of the Financial Market Stability Board – March 7, 2018

    Convening for the 15th time, the Financial Market Stability Board (FMSB) met on March 7, 2018, to discuss its Annual Report for 2017, undertake its regular review of the level of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) and adopt a preliminary work plan for 2018, among other things.
